How To Play Among Us On Mac (Complete Guide)

This article is regarding how to play Among Us on Mac. Among Us, which was released in 2018, has quickly become one of the summer’s most popular party games. However, despite the fact that it provides an easy-to-learn gameplay experience and is a lot of fun with friends, it took influencers and big streamers to notice the game in order for it to reach new heights.

While an influx of new players can be a breath of fresh air for the game’s existing community, it can also cause server issues, particularly in indie games. Well, Despite the connectivity issues that Among Us had to deal with during its meteoric run to the top, demand for the game continues to grow by the day, and Mac users have been left out because the game does not officially support the platform.

Among Us is currently available on Steam for Windows PCs and can also be played on mobile platforms such as Android and iOS. Despite being available on Apple’s mobile OS, Among Us is not available on Mac computers; however, Mac users are not without options.

Install And Play Among Us On Mac

Normally, the most common method of running unsupported games on Mac OS devices is to install Windows, which defeats the purpose of owning a Mac. However, because Among Us is now available on mobile platforms, players have a second option with fewer hoops to jump through.

#1:- Play Among Us Via An Android Emulator

The Among Us is available on Google’s Play Store, which means it can run Android emulators as well. These programs essentially emulate an Android phone or tablet on your Mac while utilizing the power of your internals. So not only will you be able to run Among Us this way, but you will be able to play it much more smoothly than you would on a mobile device.

Any Android emulator with a Mac client will suffice here, but we chose Bluestacks for testing purposes. First, download the emulator from its official website and follow the installation instructions. Because emulators install a couple of critical software frameworks that allow the emulator to function properly, your Mac machine can verify the emulator you’re installing multiple times during the installation process.

After you’ve finished installing the emulator, you’ll need to create a Google account if you don’t already have one. Well, After entering your Google account credentials and answering a few questions from Google, you’ll be directed to the home screen of your emulator. After you’ve completed the login process, go to the Google Play Store and search for Among Us. Here, You’ll need to install the game from here and then simply click on install to let Android do its thing.

Once Among Us has been successfully installed, close the Play Store from the top panel to see its icon on the main screen. When you click on Among Us, the game will start, and you’ll be presented with a set of customizable controls. Here, The keyboard controls are identical to the PC version of the game, and you should be in the game’s main menu while all of this is going on.

Next, Click on online to host or join a match. Also, Don’t forget to give your character a name before you begin. Because your progress will be tied to your Google account at this point, you won’t be able to carry it over to the PC version.

#2:- The Boot Camp Method

Although Mac OS is a clean software experience, it is not the best choice for a gamer due to compatibility issues. However, it is relatively simple to install Windows on a Mac, allowing users to install all of the programs that they previously could not, including games.

Well, You’ll use the included “Boot Camp Assistant” to do this, and the progress is relatively simple if you carefully follow all of the steps.

1- The first thing you should do is download the official ISO file of Windows 10 from Microsoft’s website. Here, Follow the instructions to save the ISO file to your Mac; you’ll be using it shortly in the following steps.

2- If you don’t have a DVD driver, you’ll need a USB stick with at least 5GB of free space to connect to your Mac. Disconnect additional external storage devices that you will not be using during this process. Then, only connect the USB stick you’ll be using during the process.

3- Run “Boot Camp Assistant” from the utility folder or the spotlight search, and check the boxes that say “Download the latest Windows support software for Apple” and “Install Windows.” A pop-up window should appear asking you to locate your ISO file. Simply locate the ISO file you downloaded and select your USB stick from the list that appears after you select the file.

4- The installation process will now ask you how much hard drive/SSD space you want to set aside for Windows. Though this is entirely up to personal preference, we recommend allocating at least 20GB of space for a little more freedom within your new operating system.

5- The rest of the process is self-explanatory, as you will be prompted with screens asking regarding your system and user preferences while Windows 10 prepares to boot in the background.

6- After successfully installing Windows 10 on your Mac, go to Steam’s official website and download it.

7- The installation process will be identical to that of your regular Windows PC, and you will only need to enter your login information before downloading Among Us.
